Also, this happened yesterday. In case you wanted to peep the Jeep for yourself.
I totally forgot to draw the NAS/jet packs on the back.
Ju at ten months old (and one day).
It’s completely natural. The hair, I mean. Every now and then people ask if we’ve shaved his head because it apparently looks like we did in his photos. He’s just been blessed with a clever hairdo is all.
The hilarious thing is that I had a friend say, while I was pregnant, “It would be so funny if your kid came out with a mohawk.” Because I used to wear my hair up in a ‘hawk on the regular.
And here we are.
A nine month picture post to celebrate our continued survival through infancy. I always like to proclaim that I never wanted an infant, it just comes with the package. It’s been a lot easier than I originally dreaded in those last months of pregnancy, but it has also dragged on because my anticipation for a walking and talking tiny human has grown right along with his big fat legs.
In the next three months his development is going to be taking leaps and bounds, especially now that he will be in an environment that caters especially to his growth through play and education. The photographs will be nice to look back on and the tininess will dearly be missed because you can never really get that back again - ever.
But bring on the tiny little man with the witty back talk and too-telling tall tales. I am ready.

This is my every night. Having had pets for kids before having a kid for a kid, I am pretty familiar with the fact that tiny living creatures demand more bed space than my six foot tall self. I am by no means an advocate of co-sleeping but I have read a few articles here and there in the aftermath and, by Internet Law, can now be considered an authority on the matter.
There are supposedly a lot of short term and long term benefits to co-sleeping but my biggest reasons for doing it are (1) laziness and (2) convenience. I had no intention of climbing my ass out of bed every two hours to go pull this kid from a crib for a feeding when I could just roll over and be done with it. I also had a big fear of him overheating from the vent in his room because I’m the type of person who doesn’t care if she has to spend way-too-much a month to keep the house warm for the two piddly months of a California winter that we actually have to endure.
At the end of the day, the entire matter of co-sleeping is just not that big of a deal. You do what works well for you and your kid and if you have reservations about it, consult a professional.

This morning’s revelation sparked some creativity and imaginings. I look forward to the day Julian is no longer drooling on himself and speaking nonsense. Not that I will encourage the anhiliation of insects but I certainly won’t discourage it either.
He’s Juju and he knows it.
The service may not be entirely on the house, but people have gone out of their way to accommodate when they see Ju’s smiling face and it has been a pleasant experience. I’m not saying we are taking advantage or anything but.. we are taking advantage.
